Bibb Schools expanding its emergency meal program announces summer start

The Bibb County School District will expand its emergency meal program beginning next week and will begin its summer meal program on June 1.

The Bibb County School District School Nutrition Program will add curbside pickup at five locations starting on Monday. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., families can pick up meals either by curbside or walk-up service at Alexander II, Sonny Carter Elementary, Howard Middle, Porter Elementary and Skyview Elementary.

These pickup locations are in addition to the emergency meal routes. The emergency meal service will continue through the week of May 19. There will be no meal service available during the week of May 25 but, starting on June 1, the district will offer Summer Meal Service.

Beginning on June 1, curbside pickup will be available at 13 school sites on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Summer Meal Service will also have its usual delivery routes.

The School Nutrition Program will provide meals to individuals 18 years old or younger, and 22 years old or younger for children with special needs. Children except special needs students should be present when possible to receive their meal.

  • Dr. Martin Luther King Elementary
  • Porter Elementary
  • Skyview Elementary
  • Southwest High
  • Weaver Middle
  • Williams Elementary
  • Veterans Elementary
